USA Swimming Names Ryan Lochte, Missy Franklin Athletes of the Year
LOS ANGELES, California. WORLD Championship gold medalists Ryan Lochte (Daytona Beach, Fla.) and Missy Franklin (Centennial, Colo.) took home top honors Sunday evening at the eighth annual USA Swimming Foundation Golden Goggle Awards. Lochte and Franklin earned the Male and Female Athlete of the Year and Race of Year awards at the star-studded gala held at the JW Marriott Los Angeles L.A.

LAUSANNE, Switzerland. ITALY, Croatia, Romania and Spain were the first winning teams in the inaugural European round of the 2012 edition of the FINA Men's Water Polo World League, which had one game on November 12 and three other matches on November 15.

ANN ARBOR, Michigan. THE initial Pro Dual Meet 1 event came to a conclusion as the Professional Swimming League kicked off its existence with a successful two-day long course meter outing. In the end, East beat West, 220-191, in the dual meet format.
Italy Withdraws From Hosting Duties of 2014 World Short Course Championships
CATANIA, Italy. IN a release from the Italian Swimming Federation yesterday, Italy stated that it has withdrawn from its hosting duties for the 2014 World Short Course Championships. Italy was slated to host the event in Catania, but stated that the Sicilian Region has been unable to guarantee that it can meet all of its financial obligations to host the event.
FINA Confirms Chad Le Clos, Therese Alshammar as World Cup Overall Winners
LAUSANNE, Switzerland. WHILE it was not a surprise, today FINA officially confirmed South Africa's Chad Le Clos and Sweden's Therese Alshammar as the overall winners of the FINA World Cup. The World Cup is a circuit of two-day short course meter events that spanned seven meets in just a month-and-a-half, with the final week featuring a three-meet Asian tour.
