time it was Australian Jacqueline Freney securing her Phelpsian eighth
gold medal at the 2012 London Paralympics. Trailing nearly seven seconds
heading into the anchor leg of the women's 400 medley relay 34 points,
Freney put
together a stunning Jason Lezak, Yannick Agnel-like anchor as Australia
clipped Great Britain at the finish.
Team USA Wins Gold at World Juniors in Modern Pentathlon
DRZONKOW, Poland. TEAM USA brought home gold Monday at the
Modern Pentathlon Junior World Championships (21 and under) in the
three-person team relay event, as reported by Pentathlon.org. A modern pentathlon has five different events, including pistol shooting, fencing, a 200 meter
freestyle swim, show jumping and a three-kilometer cross-country run.
