Brazil Long Course Championships: Felipe Silva, Joao Gomes Jr. Post Fast Times in 50 Breast
RIO DE JANEIRO, Brazil. THE Brazil World Championships Trials came to an end with a few more top 10 times going into the world rankings.

Felipe Silva touched out Joao Luiz Gomes Jr., 27.69 to 27.72, in the men's 50 breast. The swims moved Silva and Gomes Jr. to fourth and sixth in the world rankings. Cameron van der Burgh (27.24), Giacomo Perez Dortona (27.56), Brenton Rickard (27.60) and Lennart Stekelenburg (27.70) are the other top swimmers so far this year. Angelito Cassandra placed third in 28.73.
Russian Long Course Championships: Anastasia Zueva, Yuliya Efimova Close Meet With Stellar Swims
MOSCOW, Russia. THE Russian Long Course Championships concluded with quite a few more world-class swims going up on the scoreboard.

After throwing down a 59.51 in semis for second in the world in the women's 100 back, Anastasia Zueva improved that season best with a victorious 59.35. She still stands second to Aya Terakawa's 59.17 from the Japanese Nationals earlier this month. Kseniya Moskvina placed second in 1:01.15, while Maria Gromova took third in 1:02.02
USA Swimming Forms Partnership with Praesidium, Child Protection Education Leader
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colorado. USA Swimming has partnered with Praesidium, the leading provider in the field of child protection, to produce and distribute comprehensive athlete protection education programming for the National Governing Body's 300,000 members. The education program, which is required of the organization's 30,000 non-athlete members, will be made available at no charge to athletes and their parents.

Serbia Qualifies for Super Final of FINA Men's Water Polo World League
LAUSANNE, Switzerland. THE team of Serbia was the last European qualifier for the Super Final of the FINA Men's Water Polo World League 2011, after having narrowly defeated Spain in Belgrade by 14-12 (on penalty shootout). At the end of the regular time, the two teams were tied at 10-10, and at 2:13 to the end of the match the Iberians were even leading by 10-9. A precious goal of Pijetlovic with 1:42 to go balanced the score and obliged to a decisive penalty shootout, in which the Balkan team was luckier.
FINA Diving World Series Comes to Close in Mexico
LAUSANNE, Switzerland. THE team of China got six out of the eight titles on offer in the fourth and final leg of the FINA/Midea Diving World Series 2011, held in Guanajuato (MEX), on April 22-23. LAUSANNE, Switzerland. FOLLOWING a meeting in Shanghai (CHN), host of the 14th FINA World Championships from July 16-31, 2011, FINA designated the site of Jinshan City Beach (sea water) to host the Open Water Swimming events of this competition.
USA Swimming Relocates Open Water Nationals to Comply With New Safety Recommendations
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colorado. THE 2011 USA Swimming Open Water National Championships have been relocated from Fort Myers, Fla., to Fort Lauderdale, Fla. The 10k race will be held June 10 and the 5k race will remain on June 12. The USA Swimming Board of Directors approved this change in venue.
