2010 Golden Goggle Awards a Great Success!
Each year, USA Swimming’s best and brightest gather together to celebrate our athletes and their accomplishments at the star-studded Golden Goggle Awards; our annual special event to raise funds for the USA Swimming Foundation and the Make a Splash water safety initiative. The gala in 2010 was no exception, as nearly 700 guests took over the Marriott Marquis Times Square in New York City on November 22nd for a glamorous night of celebrating wins, recognizing milestones, and honoring athletes, coaches and USA Swimming community members.
Highlights of the night include recognizing the 2010 Pan Pacifics Championship Team, entertainment by the infamous PS-22 Choir from Staten Island (performing next at the Academy Awards!), being treated to LIVE audience updates by Summer Sanders, and a heartwarming tribute to late swimming champion, Fran Crippen.
In addition to celebrating successes, this special event raised record-setting funds for the USA Swimming Foundation. As the charitable arm of USA Swimming, the Foundation’s mission is to support our U.S. National Team and to make every child in America water-safe through the Make a Splash program. Congratulations to each Golden Goggles guest for not only celebrating with the team, but for also supporting the USA Swimming Foundation!

And most importantly, don’t forget to save the date for next year’s Golden Goggle Awards, to be held on Sunday, November 20 in Los Angeles, California.
