[Effortless Swimming] The 'Fake' Catch
While coaching this week I noticedsomething strange.
A lot of swimmers were catching the
water at the front of their stroke, but
it wasn't making them faster.
In this week's video we look at the
'fake' catch and how to fix it.

[Triathlon Swimming] Bobby McGee
on running faster & open water attitude
1. Running tips with Bobby McGeeBobby McGee is a legendary Olympic
run coach. He now works with pro
triathletes on improving their run off
the bike.
I chatted with Bobby about:
- Mid-foot vs heel striking
- The walk/run method
- How to develop structural integrity to
finish strong on longer races
- The connection between bike cadence
and run cadence
- Using forward lean for faster running
- Proofing yourself against fatigue

2. Open water attitude (plus some crazy ironman swim footage)
Choppy, rough and crowded. I
watched the swim start at Ironman
Melbourne and it was nasty!
I watched as a number of triathletes
pulled the pin after 100m of swimming.
I had to hold back from saying the 'F'
word in this video on attitude in open
water swimming.
Watch it here (& the IM Melbourne swim start)
