Sport Entries
Istanbul 2012 looks forward to welcoming National Federations to Istanbul in December 2012 for the 10th FINA World Swimming Championships (25m). Each National Federation is required to complete three (3) entry stages for the Championships as follows:
1. Provisional Entry Form Deadline: 31 July 2012
2. Preliminary Entry Form (Entry by number) Deadline: 30 September 2012
3. Final Individual Entry Form (Entry by name) Deadline: 05 November 2012
Istanbul 2012 has developed an online Sport Entries and Accreditation System. This system will enable each National Federation to submit and edit their Final Individual (entry by name) entries online via a website program.
Istanbul 2012 will provide specific login information and user instructions to each National Federation.
Delegation Registration
A Delegation Registration Meeting (DRM) will be scheduled for each participating National Federation. The DRM will be scheduled to coincide with the arrival in Istanbul of the Team Leader of each National Federation
The Delegation Registration process will review and confirm the following information with each Team Leader:
· Accreditation information
· Sport entries
· Accommodation arrangements
· Transport arrangements
· Training and competition arrangements
· Biographical Information
The process will also allow Istanbul 2012 to communicate to Team Leaders any new or updated information, as well as present an opportunity for questions or clarification where required by each National Federation.
A detailed schedule for Delegation Registration Meetings will be advised to each National Federation following the provision of arrival information.
Accreditation
Accreditation is an integral component of both the success and security of the 11th FINA World Swimming Championships (25m). It provides participants with access and entitlements to carry out their role and ensures only those who are eligible have access to venues and restricted zones.
Access to all Championship areas will be controlled at the venue perimeter and at the entrances to the various restricted zones within the venue in order to maintain security.
Accreditation collection for Teams will take place at the Main Accreditation Centre located at Sinan Erdem Arena.
All applications for accreditation must be submitted online via the Championships Accreditation System (GMA).
Each Federation shall be allowed to include in its delegation Team Officials (coaches, managers, trainers, chaperons, etc.) in a number dependent upon the number of competitors entering and participating in accordance with the following:
Number of Competitors Number of Team Officials
1-2 competitor(s) 1
3-5 competitors 2
6-10 competitors 4
11-20 competitors 8
21-30 competitors 10
31-40 competitors 13
Over 41 competitors 16
National Federations are to note the number of Team Officials (coaches, managers, chaperons, etc.) allowed as above. A fee of 75 USD will be payable for each approved additional accreditation pass.
Team Liaison
Each National Federation will be assigned a Team Liaison Assistant. Contact details for each Team Liaison Assistant will be given to the Team Leader at the Delegation Registration Meeting.
The Team Liaison Assistant will provide the following services for their assigned National Federation(s):
· Provision of up-to-date training competition and transport information
· Liaison with Competition Management and the Organising Committee
· Facilitate and lead a venue tour of Sinan Erdem Arena for the Team Leader and Head Coach
· Assistance with general enquiries

Jazz Carlin returns to Great Britain swimming squad for Worlds
Jazz Carlin has returned to the Great Britain swimming team for the World Short Course Championships in Istanbul on 12-16 December.
The Swansea-based swimmer missed out on a GB place for the Olympics.
She is joined by fellow Welsh swimmers Jemma Lowe, Georgia Davies and Ieuan Lloyd in the 19-strong team.
Carlin returns to the fold after missing out on a place in the individual 200m and the 4x200m squad at London 2012.
The 22-year-old is a World and European relay bronze medallist and a winner of a silver at the 2010 Commonwealth Games.
"Anytime our swimmers are up against the best in the world it's an important event," said GB head coach David McNulty.
"Not everyone will be tapered and some swimmers will be in the hard stage of their training cycle, so they will have to swim tough but I know our swimmers will give their best on the day.
"We will go there as a strong team and give everything we can to the meet. It will be an exciting start to the new quadrennial cycle for the team."
Swimmers Hannah Miley, Robbie Renwick, Fran Halsall and Olympic silver medallist Michael Jamieson, who all competed at 2012, will take part in the event in Turkey.
Youngsters Matthew Johnson (City of Sheffield) and Georgia Hohmann (Nova Centurion) will compete at their first international championships, both having made their senior debut at for Great Britain at the US Open which took place in August this year.
