Chinese National City Games: Wang Shun Posts Strong 1500
Free to Close Meet NANCHANG, China. THE Chinese National City Games came to a close in
Nanchang with one more top 10 time going up on the scoreboard.
Wang Shun finished his meet with his fourth gold medal, after clearing
15:00 in the men's 1500 free. Wang posted a 14:56.92 for the victory, moving to eighth in the world rankings. Li Yunqi placed second in the distance event with a 15:08.98, while Ke Wang earned third in 15:20.14.
Huang Chao touched fourth in 15:36.87.

Pan American Games: Three of Four Finals Feature Games Records, Thiago Pereira

GUADALAJARA, Mexico. THE Pan American Games came to a close with a record-setting evening, featuring three Games records in four finales. Meanwhile, Brazil's Thiago Pereira cracked the top 10 in the world in the 200 back en route to his fourth gold medal.

International Swimming Festival, Aachen: Pieter Timmers, Sharon van Rouwendaal Double Up
AACHEN, Germany, October 16. THE International Swimming Festival came to a close with a third day of short course meter action.
Belgium's Pieter Timmers earned the men's 100 free title in 48.14, then doubled with a 1:46.75 to capture the men's 200 free. The Netherlands' Sharon van Rouwendaal hit the wall in 59.60 to win the women's 100 back, and also doubled up with a 1:57.40 to win the women's 200 free.

USA Swimming Foundation Announces Nominees for the 2011 Golden Goggle Awards
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colorado. THE USA Swimming Foundation today released the nominations for the 2011 Golden Goggle Awards, a star-studded awards galacelebrating the year's top accomplishments in American swimming. The event will take place Sunday, November 20 at the JW Marriott at LA Live in Los Angeles and will feature the 2011 FINA World Championships U.S. swim team.

BOULDER, Colorado. SOUTHERN Methodist University played host to the two-day SMU Classic this weekend, where the Lady Longhorns of Texas swam away with the team title at one of the college season's biggest invites thus far. Texas was triumphant over strong squads from Florida, SMU, Virginia, Louisville and Wisconsin.
