About:
"Like many people, I consider New Year’s Day to be an opportune time to
reflect on the past while looking to the future. This is especially true today,
as 1 January 2013 marks the 150th anniversary of the birth of the founder of
the modern Olympic Games, Pierre de Coubertin.”[by Mr. J.Rogge, in 1 Ian. 2013]
I recceive with great interest
your newsletters and I thank you very much.
Now, in February 2013, I see that
you talk about the Winter Olympics which will take place at SOCI in 2014 and I
think that my proposal would have a chance to be at least remembered, discusses
as a future project if for Soci Winter Olympics is too late …
I am a swimming coach at the age
of 77; I have studied and written some things about the founder of the Modern
Olympic Games, Pierre Fredy de Coubertin, especially about his predecessor, the
Romanian landlord Evangelye Zappa; this is how I found out that Pierre de
Coubertin himself in 1906 came to Bucharest to found the Romanian-French Sports
Association, in order to evoke the precursor activity of the Modern Olympic
Games’ of E. Zappa.
I evoke this moment because you
have underlined that is better to know our “past” in order to project better
the “future”…
Following these ideas I am trying
to present you a project regarding the organization for the future Winter Olympics.
This is how it goes: in the last
years at swimming there are many interesting short distance competitions; they
have a distinct and separate calendar from IOC as the promoter of Modern
Olympic Games.
I think that it would be very
good if, from motivational point of view and in favor of increasing the
preparation activity, to the Winter Olympic Games you should include short
distance swimming competitions (only 50m, 100m and 200m!)
By this way the interval of 4
years between Summer Olympics would be split with short distance pool
competitions (which don’t take place in Summer Olympics…) planned during Winter
Olympics.
I believe that by this way you
could offer an optimal rhythmicity for the world elite in short distance pools
which I believe it is too frequent for top swimmers who are obliged to be
always in maximal form, fact which has consequences on their sport longevity,
etc.
As a new project, I believe it
sustains the idea of universality of the organization activity of the Olympic
Games, the main purpose of IOC and it shall offer one more objective for the
development on international arena of the ideas of the modern Olympics and of
the IOC.
Sincerely yours,
prof. M. Olaru, Bucharest, Roumanie

’viitorul’.....
In acest context de idei eu incerc a va
ultimii ani au aparut, din ce in ce mai interesante intrecerile in bazin scurt;
si 200m. !]
In felul acesta intervalul de 4 ani intre
doua JO de Vara s-ar imparti cu intreceri in bazin scurt [inexistente in
optima desfasurarii intrecerilor elitei mondiale in bazin scurt, apreciez eu,
plan mondial a ideilor olimpismului modern si implicit a IOC.
Cu admiratie,
prof. M. Olaru, Bucharest, Roumanie
